Hi everyone. I seem to be running into more and more situations where some of the artists here are claiming someone else's work as their own.

I do a lot of surfing...I mean, a lot! Searching for tutorials of all kinds, to improve my skins. I also do quite a bit of searching on DA, looking for wallpapers and such to match my skins. It's when I surf here that I see so many examples of "artists" who have posted something as "their work", when in essence they have copied the work of someone who was kind enough to write a tutorial on it.

I can think of no reason why they believe they have something to gain from doing this. It takes just a few moments to say "I made this by following a tutorial made by .....", or something similar. Are they looking for compliments from other deviants about their skills? I don't know. But I do know that it's wrong.

Too many people here are too concerned about pageviews, faves, and anything else they can claim to make themselves look good, but if the people looking has common sense, they will only see how pathetic it is to reach for such nonsense. I do not speak of the process itself. It's the way some artists here view it.

If your work is your own, and it's good, it will speak for itself. If ever you reach a point where you believe you no longer need to improve your skills, then .....

I know this is a subject that's not spoken of much, but I felt it needed to be said, because I have been inundated with requests to fave, this or fave that, even before I've had a chance to review the deviation. I will no longer.
